# DeviantArt Search API Documentation

<p><strong>DeviantArt Search API</strong> returns DeviantArt deviations matching a search query as JSON. Each result carries the deviation id, title, artist, published date, view/favourite/comment counts, tags and image URLs. Paginate with the cursor from the previous response. A valid empty result is a successful response.</p>

## Authentication

Send your Scrappa API key in the `X-API-KEY` request header. Paid endpoints also support accountless x402 payments when called without an API key.

## Parameters

| `q` | string | Yes | Search query. Example: forest. |
| `sort` | string | No | Sort order. Defaults to relevance (no sort param). |
| `cursor` | string | No | Pagination cursor from a previous response. Pass the next_cursor value to fetch the next page. |

## Errors

| Status | Error | Description |
| --- | --- | --- |
| 422 | Validation Error | A public parameter or range is invalid. This response is not billable. |
| 502 | Invalid Source Response | DeviantArt could not be reached or returned an unexpected response. This response is not billable. |
