# DuckDuckGo Maps

Find local places with address, phone, website, rating, reviews, opening hours, amenities, categories, photos and distance. Send lat and lon, or a bbox: places outside the box are removed. One page per request. Failed requests are never charged.

## Authentication

Send your Scrappa API key in the `X-API-KEY` request header. Paid endpoints also support accountless x402 payments when called without an API key.

## Parameters

| Parameter | Type | Required | Description |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| `q` | string | Yes | What to look for, for example cafe or pizza (max 499 characters). |
| `lat` | number | No | Latitude of the search point. Send it with lon, or send bbox instead. |
| `lon` | number | No | Longitude of the search point. Send it with lat, or send bbox instead. |
| `bbox` | string | No | Box as min_lat,min_lon,max_lat,max_lon. Only places inside the box are returned. Without lat and lon the search point is the center of the box. |
| `country` | string | No | Two-letter country code that sets the result region, for example DE. Default: US. |
| `l` | string | No | Region and language as ll-cc, for example de-de. Overrides country. Default: us-en. |
| `limit` | integer | No | Maximum number of places, 1 to 20. Default: 20. |

## Errors

| Status | Error | Description |
| --- | --- | --- |
|  | q is missing, or neither lat and lon nor bbox is sent, or a value is malformed. The request is not charged. |  |
|  | DuckDuckGo is temporarily unavailable. The request is not charged. Retry shortly. |  |
