# Genius Annotation API Documentation

<p>Get one annotation by id: plain text body, votes, authors, verification, comment count and its referent. The annotated lyric line is not returned.</p>

## Authentication

Send your Scrappa API key in the `X-API-KEY` request header. Paid endpoints also support accountless x402 payments when called without an API key.

## Parameters

## Errors

| Status | Error | Description |
| --- | --- | --- |
| 404 | Not Found | Genius has no resource for this id or path. This response is not billable. |
| 422 | Validation Error | A parameter is missing or invalid. No upstream request is made. This response is not billable. |
| 503 | Genius Temporarily Unavailable | Genius did not answer in time or the request was blocked. Retry after a short pause. This response is not billable. |
