# Genius Artist Songs API Documentation

<p>List the songs of an artist with page views, release date and artwork. Sort by popularity, title or release_date. Add q to filter the songs by title.</p>

## Authentication

Send your Scrappa API key in the `X-API-KEY` request header. Paid endpoints also support accountless x402 payments when called without an API key.

## Parameters

| Parameter | Type | Required | Description |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| `id` | integer | Yes | Genius artist id. Example: 1421. |
| `q` | string | No | Only songs that match this text. Optional. |
| `sort` | string | No | popularity, title or release_date. Default: popularity. Ignored when q is set. |
| `page` | integer | No | Page number, starting at 1. Default: 1. |
| `per_page` | integer | No | Results per page, 1-50. Default: 20. |

## Errors

| Status | Error | Description |
| --- | --- | --- |
| 404 | Not Found | Genius has no resource for this id or path. This response is not billable. |
| 422 | Validation Error | A parameter is missing or invalid. No upstream request is made. This response is not billable. |
| 503 | Genius Temporarily Unavailable | Genius did not answer in time or the request was blocked. Retry after a short pause. This response is not billable. |
