# Housing.com Property Search API Documentation

Housing.com Property Search API Search homes for sale or for rent in an Indian city or locality. Filter by price, area, bedrooms, property type, furnishing (rent), seller type and listing age, sort and page through the results. Each row has the price with fees, area, rooms, address and coordinates, images, per-size configurations of projects, features and the sellers with masked phone numbers. Housing.com applies every filter and each row is checked again against your filters. A row is dropped only when its own data contradicts a filter; the number of dropped rows is in meta.rows_removed_by_guard, so a page can hold fewer than 30 rows. A project card matches when one of its sizes matches all your filters together. A half size such as 2.5 BHK is not counted as 2 BHK or 3 BHK. total_count is the count reported by Housing.com before this check. Pages hold 30 rows; some rows can repeat on a later page because Housing.com mixes promoted projects into pages; a response never repeats a listing. A page beyond the last returns an empty list with the true total_count. The first search for a locality can take a little longer.

Paid endpoints also support accountless x402 payments when called without an API key. ## Parameters | Parameter | Type | Required | Description | | --- | --- | --- | --- | | `service` | string | Yes | buy or rent. | | `city` | string | Yes | City name or id from the cities endpoint, e.g. Mumbai. | | `location` | string | No | Place text, e.g. powai. The best matching locality is used. Leave out for a whole city. Do not send together with canonical. | | `canonical` | string | No | Place path from the autocomplete endpoint, e.g. /in/buy/mumbai/powai-gid/. Skips the place lookup. | | `price_min` | integer | No | Minimum price in INR (rent per month for rent). | | `price_max` | integer | No | Maximum price in INR. | | `area_min` | integer | No | Minimum built-up area in sq ft. | | `area_max` | integer | No | Maximum built-up area in sq ft. | | `bedrooms` | string | No | Comma separated list of 1rk, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 5+. | | `property_type` | string | No | Comma separated list of apartment, independent_house, independent_floor, studio, duplex, penthouse, villa. | | `furnishing` | string | No | Rent only. Comma separated list of fully, semi, unfurnished. | | `listed_by` | string | No | Comma separated list of agent, owner, developer. | | `added_within_days` | integer | No | Listed within the last 1, 2, 7, 14, 30 or 60 days. | | `sort` | string | No | relevance (default), price, date_added, price_per_sqft or updated_at. | | `order` | string | No | asc or desc.
