# IAA Vehicle Search API Documentation

Search the public IAA (Insurance Auto Auctions) vehicle inventory with a free-text query and filters for make, model, year, odometer range and primary damage. Each vehicle returns id, stock number, title, year, make, model, title document, damage, odometer with unit and status, start code, airbags, engine, fuel, transmission, drive, body style, color, masked VIN, branch, ACV in USD, auction date (ISO 8601, UTC), lane, aisle, thumbnail and public url. Page with page and per_page; a valid search with zero matches is a successful response with an empty results list.

## Authentication

Send your Scrappa API key in the `X-API-KEY` request header. Paid endpoints also support accountless x402 payments when called without an API key.

## Parameters

| Parameter | Type | Required | Description |

| `query` | string | No | Free-text search, e.g. toyota. Max 100 characters. |
| `make` | string | No | Vehicle make, e.g. toyota. Matched case-insensitively. |
| `model` | string | No | Vehicle model, e.g. tacoma. |
| `year` | integer | No | Exact model year, 1950 to 2100. |
| `year_from` | integer | No | Start of a model year range. Send together with year_to. |
| `year_to` | integer | No | End of a model year range. Send together with year_from. |
| `odometer_from` | integer | No | Minimum odometer reading. Send together with odometer_to. |
| `odometer_to` | integer | No | Maximum odometer reading. Send together with odometer_from. |
| `damage` | string | No | Primary damage, e.g. Rollover or Front End. |
| `sort` | string | No | auction_date, year, odometer or branch. Defaults to auction_date. |
| `order` | string | No | asc or desc. Defaults to asc. |
| `page` | integer | No | 1-based page number. Defaults to 1. |
| `per_page` | integer | No | Vehicles per page, 25 or 100. Defaults to 25. |

## Errors

| Status | Error | Description |
| --- | --- | --- |
|  | Error | The requested IAA vehicle was not found. Not billed. |
|  | Error | IAA could not be reached. Not billed. |
|  | Error | The upstream service is temporarily unavailable. Please retry shortly. |

|  | Error | IAA returned an unexpected page shape. Not billed. |
