# Mastodon Status Context API Documentation

Fetch a single Mastodon status with its full conversation context: ancestors (parent posts) and descendants (replies). Returns an object with ancestors and descendants arrays. Useful for reading entire threads.

## Authentication

Send your Scrappa API key in the `X-API-KEY` request header. Paid endpoints also support accountless x402 payments when called without an API key.

## Parameters

| Parameter | Type | Required | Description |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| `instance` | string | No | Public Mastodon hostname. Defaults to mastodon.social. |
| `id` | string | Yes | Status ID from a statuses or hashtag response. Example: 117429466327292556. |

## Errors

| Status | Error | Description |
| --- | --- | --- |
| 422 | Validation Error | A public parameter or range is invalid. This response is not billable. |
| 502 | Invalid Source Response | Mastodon returned an unexpected response. This response is not billable. |
