# MyAnimeList Search API Documentation

Search public MyAnimeList anime and manga by keyword: for each result the title, url, image, type, score and synopsis, plus episodes or chapters for anime and volumes for manga. A valid empty search result is a successful response.

## Authentication

Send your Scrappa API key in the `X-API-KEY` request header. Paid endpoints also support accountless x402 payments when called without an API key.

## Parameters

| Parameter | Type | Required | Description |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| `q` | string | Yes | Search query, e.g. naruto. |
| `type` | string | No | Search type: anime or manga. Defaults to anime. |

## Errors

| Status | Error | Description |
| --- | --- | --- |
| 422 | Validation Error | A required query parameter is missing or invalid. This response is not billable. |
