# Owler Company API Documentation

<p><strong>Owler Company API</strong> returns the public profile of one company: description, headquarters, founded year, ownership, ticker, industries and sectors, exact revenue and employee estimates, quarterly revenue history, socials, followers, total funding, investment and acquisition counts, the parent company, the leadership list and the CEO with approval rating.</p><p><code>revenue</code> is in US dollars. <code>approval_rating</code> is the CEO approval from 0 to 100. Fields Owler does not show to logged-out visitors are null or empty lists.</p><p>An unknown slug returns 404 and is not billed.</p>

## Authentication

Send your Scrappa API key in the `X-API-KEY` request header. Paid endpoints also support accountless x402 payments when called without an API key.

| 404 | Not Found | The company slug does not exist on Owler. This response is not billable. |
| 422 | Validation Error | A required parameter or a value is invalid. This response is not billable. |
| 503 | Upstream Unavailable | Owler could not be reached or returned data in an unexpected format. Retry shortly. This response is not billable. |
