# Owler Competitors API Documentation

<p><strong>Owler Competitors API</strong> returns the top competitors of a company with name, slug, website, logo, founded year, ownership, revenue, employee count, total funding, sectors, headquarters, proximity score and CEO with approval rating.</p><p>Owler shows 10 competitors to logged-out visitors, so the list holds at most 10 and there is no page parameter. <code>total_competitors</code> is the number Owler reports for the company. <code>returned</code> is the number in this response.</p><p>An unknown slug returns an error and is not billed.</p>

## Authentication

Send your Scrappa API key in the `X-API-KEY` request header. Paid endpoints also support accountless x402 payments when called without an API key.

## Errors

| 404 | Not Found | The company slug does not exist on Owler. This response is not billable. |
| 422 | Validation Error | A required parameter or a value is invalid. This response is not billable. |
| 503 | Upstream Unavailable | Owler could not be reached or returned data in an unexpected format. Retry shortly. This response is not billable. |
