# Owler News API Documentation

<p><strong>Owler News API</strong> returns items about a company: news articles, press releases, blog posts and videos. Each item has the title, description, category, ISO 8601 publish time in UTC, source name, source link and publisher logo.</p><p>Owler returns up to <code>limit</code> items per category, starting at <code>start</code>. A response without a category filter can therefore hold up to four times <code>limit</code> items. <code>start</code> and <code>limit</code> in the response are the values used. A higher <code>start</code> returns older items.</p><p>The <code>category</code> filter (<code>news</code>, <code>press</code>, <code>blog</code> or <code>videos</code>) keeps only that category. No item outside the filter is returned.</p><p>An unknown slug returns an error and is not billed.</p>

## Authentication

Send your Scrappa API key in the `X-API-KEY` request header. Paid endpoints also support accountless x402 payments when called without an API key.

## Parameters

| `slug` | string | Yes | Owler company slug from the search results, the last part of the Owler company URL. Example: stripe. |
| `start` | integer | No | Offset of the first item in each category, 0 or more (default 0). |
| `limit` | integer | No | Items per category, 1 to 50 (default 10). |
| `category` | string | No | Keep only one category: news, press, blog or videos. |

## Errors

| Status | Error | Description |
| --- | --- | --- |
| 404 | Not Found | The company slug does not exist on Owler. This response is not billable. |
| 422 | Validation Error | A required parameter or a value is invalid. This response is not billable. |
| 503 | Upstream Unavailable | Owler could not be reached or returned data in an unexpected format. Retry shortly. This response is not billable. |
