# Reddit User Profile API Documentation

<p><strong>Reddit User Profile API</strong> returns one user by exact name: id, username, creation date, link karma, comment karma, total karma, avatar, a short description and the flags is_gold, is_employee, verified and over_18. A suspended, renamed or unknown user returns 404.</p>

## Authentication

Send your Scrappa API key in the `X-API-KEY` request header. Paid endpoints also support accountless x402 payments when called without an API key.

## Errors

| Status | Error | Description |
| --- | --- | --- |
| 422 | Validation Error | A required parameter or a value is invalid. This response is not billable. |
| 404 | Not Found | The subreddit, post or user does not exist, is private or is banned. This response is not billable. |
| 503 | Upstream Unavailable | Reddit could not be reached or returned data that does not match the request. This response is not billable and is retryable. |
