# Reed Job Search API Documentation

Search public Reed UK job listings by keyword and location. Filter by distance, salary range, contract type, working hours, working option and posting age. Each job has the id, title, url, a short description snippet, contract type, working hours, working option, salary (figures with period and currency, or the label Reed shows when the figures are hidden), location, recruiter (name, profile and type), and ISO 8601 UTC dates (Reed sends no timezone, values are read as UTC). Pages hold 25 jobs: pagination has the total results, total pages and has_more. A page past the last one and a search without matches are successful empty responses.

## Authentication

Send your Scrappa API key in the `X-API-KEY` request header. Paid endpoints also support accountless x402 payments when called without an API key.

## Parameters

| Parameter | Type | Required | Description |

| `keywords` | string | No | Job title or skill, e.g. software engineer. Provide keywords or location. |
| `location` | string | No | UK town, city or postcode, e.g. london. Provide keywords or location. |
| `proximity` | integer | No | Distance from the location in miles: 0, 1, 3, 5, 10, 15, 20, 30 or 50. Needs location. |
| `salary_from` | integer | No | Minimum salary in GBP per year, e.g. 50000. |
| `salary_to` | integer | No | Maximum salary in GBP per year, e.g. 80000. At least salary_from. |
| `job_type` | string | No | Comma list of permanent, contract and temp, e.g. permanent,contract. |
| `hours` | string | No | Comma list of full_time and part_time. |
| `working_option` | string | No | One of on_site, hybrid or remote. |
| `posted_within` | string | No | One of today, 3_days, week or 2_weeks. |
| `page` | integer | No | 1-based page number, 1 to 1000. Defaults to 1. Each page holds 25 jobs. |

## Errors

| Status | Error | Description |
| --- | --- | --- |
| 422 | Validation Error | A required query parameter is missing or invalid. This response is not billable. |
| 503 | Invalid Source Response | Reed answered with a page that no longer matches the documented contract. This response is not billable. |
| 503 | Service Unavailable | The upstream service is temporarily unavailable. Please retry shortly. |
