# Spitogatos Autocomplete API Documentation

<p><strong>Spitogatos Autocomplete API</strong> resolves a place name in Greek or Latin letters to area ids. Pass the <code>id</code> of a result as <code>area_ids</code> to the search, count and map routes. Each result has its name, full name, level in the area tree, parent area and coordinates. A query with no match returns an empty list. Failed requests are not billed.</p>

## Authentication

Send your Scrappa API key in the `X-API-KEY` request header. Paid endpoints also support accountless x402 payments when called without an API key.

## Parameters

| `limit` | integer | No | Number of results, 1 to 25 (default 10). |

## Errors

| Status | Error | Description |
| --- | --- | --- |
| 422 | Validation Error | A required parameter or a range is invalid. This response is not billable. |
| 503 | Upstream Unavailable | Spitogatos could not be reached or returned data that does not match the request. This response is not billable and is retryable. |
