# Substack Publication Info API Documentation

Retrieve the public information of a Substack publication: name, subdomain, public URL, description, author and hero image URL. The subscriber count is not exposed by the upstream and is omitted. A publication with an empty description is still a successful response.

## Authentication

Send your Scrappa API key in the `X-API-KEY` request header. Paid endpoints also support accountless x402 payments when called without an API key.

## Errors

| Status | Error | Description |
| --- | --- | --- |
| 422 | Validation Error | The publication parameter is missing or not a valid Substack subdomain. This response is not billable. |
| 404 | Publication Not Found | The requested Substack publication was not found. This response is not billable. |
| 503 | Upstream Unavailable | The Substack publication could not be fetched. Failed requests are never billed; retry after a moment. |
