# The RealReal Item API Documentation

<p><strong>The RealReal Item API Documentation</strong> Read one The RealReal item. Send the product url to get everything of a search row plus description and detail bullets, condition and condition notes, colors, category path, measurements in inches, return policy and authentication text. Send only a SKU to get the search row of that SKU without description and measurements. A url or SKU lookup costs 1 credit. A sold or removed item answers 404. A 404 and a failed request are not billed.</p>

## Authentication

Send your Scrappa API key in the `X-API-KEY` request header. Paid endpoints also support accountless x402 payments when called without an API key.

## Parameters

| Parameter | Type | Required | Description |

| `url` | string | No | A therealreal.com product url, e.g. the url of a search row. Required unless you send a SKU. Gives the full item. |
| `sku` | string | No | The SKU of a search row, e.g. GUC2188017. Required unless you send a url. Gives the search row only. |

| 422 | Validation Error | A query parameter is missing or invalid. This response is not billable. |
| 404 | Item Not Found | The RealReal has no item for this request. It may be sold or removed. This response is not billable. |
| 503 | Source Unavailable | The RealReal did not give a usable answer after the retries. This response is not billable. Retry later. |
