# Trader Joe's Categories API Documentation

<p><strong>Trader Joe's Categories API</strong> returns the full category tree of traderjoes.com, for example Food and Beverages with their sub categories. Each category has an id, name, slug and product count. The slug matches the category slugs in search and product items.</p><p>The route has no parameters. Costs 1 credit per successful request. Failed requests are free.</p>

## Authentication

Send your Scrappa API key in the `X-API-KEY` request header. Paid endpoints also support accountless x402 payments when called without an API key.

## Errors

| Status | Error | Description |
| --- | --- | --- |
| 503 | Upstream Unavailable | Trader Joe's could not be reached after several tries. This response is not billable. Retry shortly. |
