# Yahoo Video Search API

<p><strong>Yahoo Video Search API documentation</strong> for developers who need Yahoo video results as JSON. Scrappa's <code>GET /api/yahoo/videos</code> endpoint returns about 60 videos per page with link, embed link, thumbnail, duration, source site and description.</p><h2>How to call the endpoint</h2><p>Send a <code>GET</code> request with a required <code>q</code> and your API key in the <code>x-api-key</code> header. Page with <code>page</code> (1-10). Yahoo has about 4 pages for most queries; a page past the end returns an empty <code>data</code> list and is not billed. Narrow the set with <code>duration</code> (<code>short</code>, <code>medium</code>, <code>long</code>), <code>age</code> (<code>day</code>, <code>week</code>, <code>month</code>, <code>year</code>) and <code>site</code> (<code>youtube</code>, <code>vimeo</code>, <code>dailymotion</code>, <code>cnn</code>, <code>msn</code>, <code>mtv</code>, <code>cbsnews</code>, <code>foxnews</code>). Each value returns a different set of videos. Some sites have few or no videos for a query.</p><h2>Response fields</h2><p>Each video has <code>position</code>, <code>title</code>, <code>url</code>, <code>embed_url</code> (when the site offers one), <code>thumbnail</code>, <code>duration</code>, <code>duration_seconds</code>, <code>source</code>, <code>domain</code>, <code>views</code> and <code>description</code>. With <code>duration</code>, videos outside the length band are removed. <code>has_more</code> tells you if another page is likely.</p>

## Errors

| Status | Error | Description |
| --- | --- | --- |
| 422 | Validation Error | The q parameter is missing, or page, duration, age or site failed validation. |
| 503 | Yahoo Temporarily Unavailable | Yahoo did not return usable data after the bounded retry on a second route. The request is not billed. Retry shortly. |
