What you can build

Structured data for real applications. Here are some ideas.

App Store Optimization

Track ratings, total review counts, star breakdowns, download ranges, and last-update dates for your apps and competitor apps on Google Play.

Competitor Discovery

Use the similar_results groups to find related apps, each with a product_id you can feed back into the API to map a category.

Market Research Datasets

Build app intelligence dashboards with categories, content ratings, ads and in-app purchase flags, in-app purchase price ranges, and release dates.

Localization Monitoring

Compare how a listing differs across storefront countries and languages with the gl and hl parameters.

Privacy and Compliance Reviews

Collect data safety statements, permissions, privacy policy links, and developer contacts for partnership vetting and compliance work.

Google Play Store scraper API

Google Play API for app ratings, downloads, data safety, and developer contacts

The Google Play API is built for app intelligence tools, ASO and market research, competitor tracking, and catalog enrichment. Send a package name such as com.spotify.music, or a full Google Play URL, and get the public listing as structured fields: title, developer, icon, media images, rating, review count, star histogram, download range, content rating, categories, permissions, data safety statements, developer contacts, and similar apps. Choose the interface language with hl and the storefront country with gl.

product_info returns the title, authors, extensions such as Contains ads, rating, total review count, content rating, downloads, thumbnail, and product_id.

about_this_app returns the description snippet, in-app purchase price range, release and last-update dates, full download count, content rating, offered_by, and permissions.

categories, data_safety, and ratings return category ids, data safety statements, and the per-star breakdown.

app_support, about_the_developer, and developer_contact return the website, support email, privacy policy URL, and address when published.

similar_results returns groups of related apps, each with product_id, title, rating, and thumbnail.

Apps return the rich field set. Books, audiobooks, movies, and TV lookups currently return the core identity fields: title, id, and link.

Choose the right Google Play API endpoint

Use App Details for full listings

Call /api/google/play/details with a package name or Play Store URL to get the complete app listing, including ratings, downloads, categories, data safety, developer contacts, and similar apps.

Open App Details docs

Use Product Reviews for embedded reviews

Call /api/google/play/product/reviews to get the listing plus the reviews Google Play embeds on the product page, with reviewer name, rating, text, likes, and date. Set all_reviews=true to request the review-expanded page. When the list is empty, use product_info.reviews and ratings for aggregate review data.

Frequently asked questions

A Google Play API returns public Google Play listing data as structured fields instead of HTML. Scrappa returns app titles, developers, ratings, review counts, star breakdowns, downloads, categories, data safety statements, developer contacts, and similar apps as JSON.

Open the product on play.google.com and copy the id query parameter. For https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.spotify.music the id is com.spotify.music. You can also pass the whole URL in the url parameter.

/api/google/play/details and /api/google/play/apps/product return the same data. Use /api/google/play/product with the store parameter when you handle several verticals in one code path.

Yes, the reviews Google Play embeds on the product page. /api/google/play/product/reviews returns each review with reviewer name, rating, text, likes, and date when available. Responses do not include a pagination token, and the list can be empty. Aggregate review data is always available through product_info.reviews and ratings.

Not yet. Books, audiobooks, movies, and TV lookups currently return the core identity fields, such as title, product id, and link, while the rich field set applies to apps.

Set gl to the storefront country and hl to the language, for example gl=de and hl=de. Listing text, dates, and localized values follow the selected storefront and language.

No. Scrappa is an independent service and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Google. You only need a Scrappa API key, sent as the X-API-KEY header.

Yes. Every Scrappa account includes 500 free credits per month, so you can test Google Play lookups before buying credit packs. Paid usage costs as little as $0.20 per 1,000 requests, and requests that fail with a temporary 503 error are not billed.
