What you can build

Structured data for real applications. Here are some ideas.

Short-Form Content Research

Find the short videos ranking for a topic across YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and Pinterest from one API. Build content research tools and trend dashboards without a platform key per network.

Video Discovery Feeds

Populate a discovery feed with short videos for a keyword: title, duration, channel, thumbnail and clip URL in one response, paginated with the real start offsets Google serves.

Creator and Brand Monitoring

Track which channels and creators rank for your brand or niche keywords, with the source platform and duration of each result.

Frequently asked questions

It returns the Short videos tab results of Google Search as JSON. Send a query such as "coffee" with hl and gl and get a short_video_results array: each entry carries the position, title, rendered duration, source platform, channel, link, thumbnail URL and - where Google serves them - the preview clip URL. Field names follow the SerpApi google_short_videos convention.

No. There is no public Google Short Videos API; Scrappa is an independent service and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Google. A Scrappa API key is the only credential - no Google Cloud project and no platform API keys.

Google only embeds a direct destination URL on some cards, YouTube among them. On every other platform the card links through Google, so the endpoint returns the Google redirect URL for that card instead of guessing a destination. Resolving each redirect would add one extra upstream request per result, which the endpoint deliberately avoids.

Pages within the accepted offsets return the 12 videos Google renders. Use start in multiples of 12 (0, 12, 24 ... 360) or the page parameter, which the endpoint translates to start = page x 12. has_more reports whether Google served a further page signal or a full page. Offsets above 360 are a documented policy cap and are rejected with a validation error.

A blocked page, a captcha, an unusable session or an upstream failure returns 503 and is never billed. The same applies to a query with no short videos: Google serves that page neither with cards nor with an explicit no-results marker, and the endpoint answers 503 rather than inventing an empty, billed result.

Yes. Every Scrappa account includes 500 free credits per month with no credit card required. Requests are $0.20 per 1,000 after that, and a request that returns an error consumes no credits.
