The Hostelworld API is built for travel apps, price monitoring and budget travel research. The search endpoint lists the hostels of a city with the lowest dorm and private price per night, ratings with a category breakdown, distance and free cancellation. The property endpoint adds facilities, photos and policies. The reviews endpoint pages through guest reviews and the availability endpoint returns room types with every rate plan for exact dates.

Find a city id by name with the autocomplete endpoint, then search by city and stay dates.

Read prices as numbers with a currency code; choose the currency with one parameter.

Page through search results and reviews with page and per_page and read has_more.

Open any property for facilities, rating scores, photos, payment methods and policies.

Reviewer nicknames and booking tokens are never returned.

Every Scrappa account includes 500 free credits each month. After that, each request costs one credit, which works out to $0.20 to $0.30 per 1,000 requests depending on the credit pack or plan. Failed requests and unknown ids are not billed.

Call the autocomplete endpoint with a city name such as berlin and use the id of the result with type city as city_id in the search endpoint.

Search and reviews use the page and per_page parameters with up to 50 items per page. The response returns total_items, total_pages and has_more. A page past the end is a valid empty result.
