Spotify API

Spotify Data API for Artists, Monthly Listeners, Charts, and Podcasts

Scrappa's Spotify API turns public Spotify catalog data into structured JSON. Look up any artist for monthly listeners, follower counts, world rank, top cities and biography, then read their top tracks, discography releases and related artists. Get tracks with durations and preview links, album and playlist track lists in rank order, paginated on request, editorial charts, podcast shows with paginated episode history, and generated audio mixes — all without a Spotify developer account.

What you can build

Structured data for real applications. Here are some ideas.

Artist Intelligence

Track monthly listener counts, follower growth, world rank and top cities for any artist. Build artist analytics dashboards, label reporting and audience research tools.

Playlist and Chart Tracking

Pull playlist and editorial chart track lists in rank order, a page at a time or drained with all=true. Monitor curated playlist changes, chart movement and catalogue updates over time.

Podcast Transcripts and Monitoring

Walk a show's episode history, newest first, one page at a time or drained with all=true. Build podcast monitoring, episode alerts and sponsor-placement research workflows.

Catalogue Enrichment

Enrich your own music database with Spotify metadata, durations, release dates, labels, copyrights and preview links for tracks, albums and artists.

Frequently asked questions

No. You only need a Scrappa API key. There is no Spotify app registration, no client-secret management and no approval queue.

Every Spotify id is the last segment of its URI. A track URI such as spotify:track:2Foc5Q5nqNiosCNqttzHof has the id 2Foc5Q5nqNiosCNqttzHof. You can paste either form — the full URI or the bare id — into the id parameter.

Each id in a get-many request is a separate lookup and is charged separately, so you always know what a batch costs. Items that cannot be resolved are not charged.

A failed request is never charged. If Spotify is unavailable or returns no data for an id, you get a clear error response and your credits are untouched.

No. Spotify delivers audio through protected streaming, so this API returns metadata and the short preview links Spotify publishes for each track.

Yes. Search, music metadata, charts and podcast data all come from the same key and the same billing, so you can build a combined music and podcast product on one plan.
