Tripadvisor has no official API. Its website is protected by DataDome bot mitigation, so developers who scrape it directly get blocked. Scrappa provides a stable, documented REST API with reliable access to search results, place details and review texts.
Yes. The reviews endpoint returns up to 20 reviews per page, newest first, with title, text, rating, published date, month of the stay, helpful votes, language, reviewer display name and the owner response when one exists. Page with offset and next_offset, and filter by language.
It returns the same locations as the Tripadvisor search box: hotels, restaurants, attractions and destinations with position, rating, review count, address, image and URL. Tripadvisor answers one result list per query, so there are no result pages; use limit (up to 20) and type to narrow the list.
Just a Scrappa API key. No Tripadvisor account, no cookies, no browser automation. Sign up for free, get your key, and start querying Tripadvisor data programmatically within minutes.
No. Tripadvisor does not publish the trip type (couples, family, business) in its public review data, so the API returns the month of the stay instead.
Yes. Every Scrappa account includes 500 free credits per month. Test all three Tripadvisor endpoints - search, place and reviews - before committing to a paid plan.
Scrappa charges $0.20 per 1,000 requests. There are no daily caps or query limits. Failed requests and unknown location IDs are never billed.
