Search listings by make, model, year, price, odometer, body style, state, transmission and seller type, open any listing for specs, price basis, seller and all images, read the make and model taxonomy and filter vocabulary with live counts, look up the RedBook indicative price range for a model year, and group dealer stock by seller. The Carsales API is built for automotive analytics, dealer tools and car search features. Each listing includes the listing ID, URL, title, year, make, model, badge, price in AUD, the price basis, odometer in kilometres, state, seller type, transmission, body style and images. Detail responses add fuel type, colour, seller ID, sale status, the publish date and the full image list.

Frequently asked questions

No. Scrappa is an independent service and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Carsales. The Carsales API returns structured JSON from current public car listings through a Scrappa API key.

Carsales returns a rotating sample of up to 30 listings for a filter set and has no page parameter. The total_results field is the approximate live count and can drift by a few listings between requests. Narrow the filters to cover a large set.

The price_basis field is egc when the price excludes government charges and dap when the price is a drive away price. It is null when Carsales does not state a basis.

Carsales ignores sort parameters, so Scrappa sorts the returned sample for you. The sort object in the response tells you the sort was applied to the sample.

Filter by state with the full state name or its short code. Carsales exposes the state of a listing, not the suburb. Dealer profiles are not available.

Every Scrappa account includes 500 free credits each month. After that, each request costs one credit. Requests that return no usable data are never charged.
