Structured data for real applications. Here are some ideas.
Search artists, pull their full profile with follower and track counts, then page through every upload, album, and playlist they publish.
Read play, like, repost, and comment counts for any track to rank artists and size an audience before you commit to outreach.
Pull threaded track comments and user comments with paging, so you can run sentiment analysis on what listeners actually say.
Fetch a playlist with its member count, then hydrate every member track with full metadata and counters through a separately billed route.
SoundCloud scraper API
The SoundCloud API is built for music data tools, audience research, playlist curation, and trend monitoring that need public SoundCloud data without running your own scraper. One API covers the whole artist surface: profiles, uploads, albums, playlists, likes, top tracks, activity, followers, and followings, plus track details, threaded comments, likers, reposters, related tracks, and related artists. Search across tracks, users, albums, and non-album playlists, pull trending playlists, and hydrate playlist members, all as structured JSON.
Track responses carry playback_count, likes_count, comment_count, duration, genre, tags, artwork, and monetization and streamability metadata.
Counters that are not published stay null instead of being reported as zero, so you never mistake missing data for real data.
Comments support threaded paging with offset and limit for both track comments and user comments.
The playlist endpoint returns member counts cheaply; the separately billed playlist tracks route hydrates every member track with full metadata.
Playlist hydration is priced by the number of lookups it performs, and a playlist larger than the member cap returns truncated with next_offset, which you send back as offset to hydrate the next page.
Every response echoes the effective request in search_parameters, including defaults you did not send.

Search with type=users to find an artist, take the returned id, and request the profile endpoint for follower counts, track counts, and bio. The resolve endpoint also turns a public profile URL into an id.

A SoundCloud scraper API returns public SoundCloud data as structured JSON instead of requiring you to run your own scraper. Scrappa covers artist and user profiles, uploads, albums, playlists, likes, followers, track details, threaded comments, related tracks, related artists, search, and trending playlists.
Public SoundCloud URLs do not contain ids — a profile URL carries a vanity slug such as https://soundcloud.com/artist. Take a user or track id from any search result, from the user object nested inside a track response, or by passing a public URL to the resolve endpoint, which returns the id back.
No. Every endpoint returns public SoundCloud data and needs only your Scrappa API key, sent as the X-API-KEY header. No SoundCloud login, session, or account is involved.
SoundCloud does not publish that counter for every track. A missing counter is returned as null rather than 0, so you can tell absent data apart from a genuine zero.
The playlist endpoint costs one lookup and returns the whole playlist as SoundCloud publishes it: the member count plus the embedded member list, without per-track metadata or counters. Use it to see what a playlist holds and its size. The playlist tracks endpoint hydrates every member track with full metadata and counters, costs more because it performs several lookups, and reports truncated with next_offset when a playlist exceeds the member cap: pass that next_offset back as offset to hydrate the following page.
No. This is a data API. It returns track metadata, counters, monetization model, and streamability as published, and never fetches or resolves media or stream URLs.
No. Scrappa is an independent service and is not affiliated with or endorsed by SoundCloud. You only need a Scrappa API key.
Yes. Every Scrappa account includes 500 free credits per month, so you can test profile, track, and search lookups before buying credit packs. Paid usage costs as little as $0.20 per 1,000 requests.
